AppleFest 2010 is a Success!
AppleFest 2010 was awesome! The AppleFest Team would like to say thanks to everyone who helped make this day happen; we couldn't have done it without you. So many people helped in various ways and for this we give thanks to you and to our heavenly Provider.
We are incredibly grateful for the fun-filled day we experienced and although we are still crunching final numbers we can say that we raised somewhere around $30,000. What a blessing for a first-time event.

AppleFest 2010 is now history...here's a few highlights to remember
- 9:30 am and 11 am - Exotic Critter Tales displayed for the kids all these cool animals
- 9:45 am Rick Dykstra, M.P. bravely took the dunk tank seat and was dunked several times
- 11:30 or so our elementary school principal took the seat as well and got dunked in the very cool waters
- Ginny's Culinary Show just past 11 am was a great demonstration of Mulligatawny Soup, Warm Beet Salad and Apple Drizzle in a pan. MMMMM good food.
- 12 noon our wonderful Judy Dykstra got dunked many many times all to the delight of students watching her hit that very cold water
- 1 pm - Juliet Dunn took the stage and delighted those that gathered to hear her beautiful jazz trio perform
- 2 pm - Mad Science Show drew a big crowd of all ages
- 4 pm - The Marty Allen Band drew a crowd of faithful fans
- 6:30 pm - TiannaH Jazz with a Twist had many students up and moving to her wondrous voice
- 8 pm - Stones Throw was our final performance of the day! What a way to end a great event, praising God for all that He has done for us.
The AppleFest Team can't wait til next year. It's a big job but we had a great time planning this event; an event to celebrate the harvest in Niagara. Next year...there will be much more and everything apples!
We will begin looking for sponsorships of AppleFest 2011 in the new year. for 2010 we received sponsorships from several companies that did not have a connection with Beacon in the past. We'd like this to grow. If you wish to sponsor this event or know of a company that would possibly be interested in doing so please let us know. Call our AppleFest Co-ordinator, Janet deVries at 905.684.1105 or email janetdevries@cogeco.ca
Many thanks!
